In just 13 days, the action packed dinosaur movie Jurassic World has beaten the Fast & Furious 7 earning a total of $1billion worldwide!
Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, the film accumulated £19m in the UK box office during its first weekend. According the Guinness World Records, from the 10th of June, the film made £634 million. Jurassic World is the latest installment in the Jurassic Park saga and it looks like this movie could take the 2015 highest earning film title.
When compared to the former record holder Fast & Furious 7 which accumulated the same amount in a space of 17 days, this film has made its mark in a big way. The Guinness World Records is the film’s biggest achievement, especially when compared to some of this year’s movie heavyweights.
2015 has proved to be the year of movies with the likes of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Fifty Shades of Grey. The blockbuster earnings are also expected to reach new heights with the Star Wars saga, ‘The Force Awakens’ which is the latest installments of the Star Wars franchise.
The movie features a combination of unfamiliar faces together with well-known stars including the likes of Harrison Ford playing Han Solo, Mark Hamil playing Luke Skywalker and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia.
